Clearing browsing data in Google Chrome

If you are unable to load a page, try clearing your browsing data.

Using Google Chrome as your default browser is highly recommended as it is a more stable application. Instructions to setup Google Chrome can be found here: Setting up Chrome or Firefox as your Default Browser

Tip: Make sure you have the most current version of Chrome installed. Chrome will alert you automatically if your browser version is out of date, but to check it manually you can Click the menu icon (three vertical dots), select "Help" and then "About Google Chrome". You will see a message indicating that Google Chrome is up to date. If not, there will be an option to update it.

  1. Click the three vertical dots in the upper right hand corner of your browser window.
  2. Hover over "More Tools" to see the expanded menu.
  3. Select "Clear browsing data".
  4. Make sure to set the drop down menu to "the beginning of time" and select "Cookies and other site and plugin data" as well as "Cached images and files". You may also select "Browsing history" and "Download history" if you wish but it may not be necessary to do so.
  5. Click the button "Clear browsing data".
  6. Try to load the page again.
    • If it does not load, refresh the page and try again (keyboard shortcut for this is F5 on a windows machine).
    • If it does not load, close out the browser completely and relaunch it to try again.
